Moneysmartz recently completed a survey of real estate blogs, finding a variety of useful general-interest real estate blogs. The Moneysmartz real estate blog category includes blogs about real estate trends, economics, news, opinion, and urban living. This category is also a catchall for blogs not fitting into categories such as real estate investing, real estate bubble, and regional real estate. From this list, Moneysmartz identified a select few must adds to your feed readers and bookmarks.

Does the thought of anything related to taxes send shivers down your spine? Since we are in the midst of tax season, we don't have a choice; we have to talk about taxes.
In addition to well known tax websites, like H&R Block, Tax Cut, and IRS.com, tax bloggers now offer a small, but growing body of information, insight, and commentary.
Moneysmartz took a closer look at this trend-setting group of tax bloggers and identified tax blogs most helpful to individual financial decision-making.
Many narrowly focused and newly minted blogs remain on the cutting room floor. We included a few sites on our list with a narrow focus that have cross-over appeal to a mainstream audience, including Tax Prof Blog, a blog we recently reviewed.
When reviewing the list, you'll need to conjure up as much tax nerd as humanly possible. You'll probably find the list most helpful if you receive one of those scary letters from the IRS.

Moneysmartz evaluated this elite group looking for columnists most helpful to individual financial decision-making.
In conducting this analysis, we sometimes felt like we were trying to break into Fort Knox with more than a few sites requiring registration or a fee to gain access.
Ultimately, we broke through the barriers and discovered some gold in the process.

The Diffusion Group recently predicted U.S. podcast audience growth from less than one million to 56 million by 2010. Given the potential size of the podcasting market and the ease at which podcasting delivers personal finance information to the mass market, Moneysmartz scoured the personal finance web to identify the best money-related podcasts.
Before reviewing these findings, we need to explain podcasting technology. Podcasting allows you to receive audio programs on a "device" such as an iPod, MP3 player, or computer. You choose what goes on your device by "subscribing" to free feeds from just about anyone and on any subject. Your device and podcasting software then do the work and automatically download feeds for your listening pleasure.
Ease of creation has resulted in podcasts on any subject imaginable. You don't have to be a CPA to talk about accounting or a musician to create a music podcast. This freedom leads to incredible diversity, but spotty quality and a high abandonment rate, where podcast publishers create a broadcast and then abruptly stop publishing.
These issues were apparent in our review of personal finance podcasting. Many sites recently launched and about 25% of the sites we surveyed had ceased or had not created a podcast in several months.
As with any new medium, "buyer beware" is the watchword. Over time, the cream should rise, but for now, it's too early and there's too much noise to identify clear leaders in personal finance podcasting.
As one might expect, we found many individuals and companies creating podcasts that only sell products, including get rich programs and proprietary trading programs. As much as possible, we excluded these sites from our review.
Our personal finance podcasting list, categorized by personal finance topic, summarizes the best podcasts of the personal finance web. We selected podcasts that offer content helpful to individual financial decision-making and that have staying power, evidenced by a history of podcasting or a long-established blog or website in the personal finance arena. We did include a few sites with limited podcasting experience based on a review of site content and in some cases a hunch that these sites would be around for the long haul. We'll certainly be interested to see where they are in a year.
